Terms of Service
Last updated 14 July 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Grethel ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you don't, don't use Grethel.
Not medical advice
This is the important one. Grethel is a wellness tool that offers decision support — it is not a medical device, it does not diagnose or treat anything, and nothing it says is medical advice. Its calorie and macro figures are estimates derived from a published formula and from what you tell it; they can be wrong. If you have or suspect an eating disorder, diabetes, or any other condition, if you take medication that affects appetite or metabolism, or if you're pregnant, talk to a qualified professional and follow their guidance over anything in this app. Never disregard professional advice because of something Grethel told you.
Your account
You're responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Give us accurate information — the app's arithmetic is only as good as the stats you enter. You must be at least 13 years old to use Grethel; if you're under 18, use it with a parent or guardian's involvement.
The coach and fair use
By default Grethel's coach runs on a model we host, and there are limits to keep it available for everyone — currently around 100 messages per day. The coach is a wellness assistant, not a general-purpose AI; using it for unrelated tasks, or trying to bypass its limits or safety rules, is a misuse of the service and we may restrict access for it.
Bringing your own key (optional). Instead of the built-in coach you may connect your own OpenAI or Anthropic key. If you do, you pay that provider, not us — every message bills against your own account at their rates — and your use of that provider is also subject to their terms and privacy policy. Keep your key confidential; if it leaks, revoke it with your provider.
Acceptable use
Use Grethel for your own health tracking. Don't use it to break the law, don't try to break into it or into anyone else's account, don't attempt to extract other users' data, and don't use it to pursue a goal that is dangerous to you.
Your content
What you log is yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you — to store your entries and to pass your messages to the AI provider you connected. We claim no ownership of it and don't use it to train anything.
Availability, and ending things
Grethel is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't promise it will always be available, or that its estimates will be accurate. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages, or for any health outcome arising from your use of the app.
You can stop at any time and delete your account from Settings, which erases your data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end an account that violates these terms.
Apple
This agreement is between you and us — not with Apple, which is not responsible for the app or its contents. Your license to use Grethel is a non-transferable license to run it on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for Grethel. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (which, for Grethel, is nothing); to the fullest extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, regulatory, and intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; if a change is material we'll say so in the app before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION]. Questions: support@grethel.app.
